THINK FAST, CHUCKLENUTS! TWO WNEUP BLOG POSTS IN THE SAME YEAR :OOO
yeahhhh, now you don't know WHAT to do with yourself.
anyways, pick up your shambles and let's catch up.
it hasn't been that long since my last post, but regardless, a myriad of things have occured.
last post, I mentioned the release of my latest project, 4RVR TAPE, and how it was basically a showcase of different styles of music that I've enjoyed making (and moreover, a somewhat polished version of said styles). I've started to find my own musical sound a lot more ever since I released 4RVR TAPE, and I'm a lot more comfortable music-wise.
which leads to now.
I've begun work on my most ambitious project EVER. better than 'phases'. full-blown project... I'm talking production through the ROOF, doing things vocally I've never done before, that type of stuff. after this album, nobody can deny my genius.
I get that that sounds quite egotistical of me (I hear my voice in my head all the time), but I gotta hype myself up, first and foremost.
I also get that I just said that it'll be "bEtTeR tHaN pHaSeS", but that's not the end goal. the real reason for this album is to be the ultimate love letter to EVERY musical sound or 'endeavour' I've had in my journey, hence why the project is titled...
ODYSSI.
I wanna have a whole 'walking simulator' kinda aesthetic to it, so I'll try and work on that aspect of the new era while I'm still working on the music.
I'll be releasing a new single on October 18 (titled, appropriately, '18'), which releases a couple days AFTER MY 18TH BIRTHDAY WOOOOOO
Yeah.
So, yeah, uhhhhh...
this reads like a text message, shoot
I turn 18 on the 16th, and needless to say, I'm pretty excited. Yeah, I was initially nervous, but after taking a step back, I realized it doesn't make any sense to go in to adulthood with any fear if you're already going to experience a lotta scary stuff anyways, right?
Right.
So all I can really do is make the most of the fleeting adolescence that I have left, and I'd say I'm doing a pretty good job at that. (mayyyyyyybe at the expense of my academics, but eh, you can't win 'em all) (this is a joke) (please understand this is a joke)
And in other recent happenings, uh...
Frank Sinatra.
A couple days ago, I uploaded a cover (if you could call it that) of the song 'Fly Me to the Moon'. I've gotten a sizeable amount of exposure because of it (the most amount of exposure I've gotten on my channel in a while, actually), so I figured I'd give some backstory on the song's orgin and... content.
(first, shameless plug. please take caution: https://youtu.be/RV05JeX5GFE)
So, I recorded the song back in May, as a spontaneous thing (as 99% of my creative output is) and had no intentions of ever releasing it on YT. However, in late September, I saw that the anniversary for Neon Genesis Evangelion (the anime that... y'know) was on the 4th of October, and I figured that this would be the last insane thing I'd do as a young person, so I polished the song up, made the visuals (Shinji is literally me), and the rest is history.
As for the, uh, story at the end (can't really say it's at the end, since it takes up half the song), it's highly exaggerated, but yes, it is a true story.
Yep.
That's pretty much it; this is probably the biggest legitimate blog post I've ever written up, so I am understandably, so I will, understandably, be taking a 3 year break from the blog :D
well, no. but it'll feel like it.
thanks for all the support again. I got a lot in the works for us, so stay tuned.
